ABOUT
The Full Story
#WholeNZ is a collective movement in NZ, representing a unified effort aimed at reversing pre-diabetes and T2diabetes in our communities. Our goal is to improve the way healthcare is delivered to those living with diabetes and more broadly, chronic disease, by promoting a whole food, carbohydrate-reduction approach grounded in strategies designed to foster behaviour change.
We comprise a diverse group of passionate promoters of health from various settings including academics, clinicians, nurses, health coaches, dietitians, healthcare managers / directors and others motivated to help change the face of healthcare in NZ.
#WholeNZ was founded in 2023 by an expert team of AUT academics and clinicians from around NZ* who have been working together for many years towards progressing this goal, and who are now collaborating in a 3-year Health Research Council-funded project aimed at implementing and evaluating the “Reverse T2D approach” in primary care in NZ.
#WholeNZ is now expanding to include others in our collective: this could mean you – if you’re motivated by the same things we are. To be part of this cutting edge movement and important goal of changing the face of health care in NZ, join our collective HERE. You can contribute by just being a signed-up member and peruser of our site and resources, or you can actively get involved at a deeper level, in which case we’d love you to get in touch.
